Swayze "doing fine" in hospital

Patrick Swayze is "doing fine" in hospital after he was struck down with pneumonia last week

The 'Dirty Dancing' star, who is battling pancreatic cancer, checked himself into a facility on Friday to be kept under observation after he was diagnosed with pneumonia.

His mother, Patsy Swayze, told Usmagazine.com: "He sounds really upbeat and positive. We don't talk about illness when I talk to him. He hasn't even been there a week."

Swayze's hospital stay came just two days after his first post-diagnosis interview with broadcaster Barbara Walters aired on US TV.
