'Sopranos' actor jailed for fatal robbery

A former actor on 'The Sopranos' television Mafia series was jailed for 10 years today for his role in a botched burglary that ended in the killing of an off-duty New York police officer.

Lillo Brancato Jr escaped a murder conviction over the death of Daniel Enchautegui.

The 32-year-old could have faced up to 15 years in prison for his attempted burglary conviction.

Accomplice Steven Armento is already serving a life sentence.

The pair broke into an apartment to steal prescription drugs after a night of drinking in December 2005.

Mr Enchautegui, who lived next door and was off duty, came out to investigate and was shot by Armento.
