Former 'Countdown' star Carol Vorderman wants to name her new home after a risqué anagram, her agent said today.
Vorderman, who left the show in December, has applied for planning permission to name her £5m (€5.5m) home in North Somerset “Sloblock Hall”.
Sloblock appeared in 90s comedy sketch show 'A Bit Of Fry And Laurie', as it lampooned the Channel 4 quiz show.
Actress Jan Ravens took the part of Vorderman, 48, in the sketch and pulled out letters spelling “sloblock”.
“Sloblock” became a running joke between Vorderman and the late Countdown host Richard Whiteley.
Her agent John Miles told the Bristol Evening Post: “Richard and Carol used to joke all the time and it was mentioned on air.
“She just thought it would be fun to rename the house Sloblock. Carol is a fun person – it’s no big thing. Lots of people have fun names for their homes.”
Vorderman, who has two children, quit 'Countdown' after 26 years when TV bosses tried to force her to take a 90% pay cut.
She moved to Bristol in 2007 and recently bought the country house, where she will live with her partner Des Kelly.
Richard Whiteley died in 2005 aged 61.
In July, Des O’Connor announced he was stepping down after two years on the show. Their final show and a tribute were aired on December 12.
