Lawson and Connery top 'sexiest voice' poll

TV cook Nigella Lawson and actor Sean Connery have the sexiest celebrity voices, a UK poll found today.

Lawson’s British tones and Connery's Scottish lilt beat the accents of Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in the online survey.

The poll also found most men wanted to sound like Connery while women said actress Joanna Lumley’s accent would be their ideal choice.

Squeaky comedian Joe Pasquale had the most annoying male celebrity voice in the poll, beating that of David Beckham and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who came second and third.

And Janet Street-Porter topped the list of most annoying female celebrity voices, followed by singer Amy Winehouse and model Jordan.

A total of 1,966 adults were polled online by telecoms firm Spinvox.
