'Sopranos' actor found dead
The actor who played the gay firefighter lover of a closeted mobster on hit TV show 'The Sopranos' was found dead after apparently committing suicide.
John Costelloe, 47, who played the hunky short-order cook Johnny Cakes on four episodes of the series, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Brooklyn, New York, home on December 18, police spokesman Lt John Grimpel said.
Costelloe was cast as Jim “Johnny Cakes” Witowski in 2006 opposite his old friend, actor Joseph Gannascoli, who played gay mob boss Vito Spatafore.
