A smashed guitar which once belonged to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has sold at auction for $100,000 (€71,428).

A smashed guitar which once belonged to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has sold at auction for $100,000 (€71,428).

The sale was confirmed on Tuesday by the senior curator of the Experience Music Project in Seattle, Washington, where the taped-up Fender Mustang had been on display.
