Streep 'too ugly' for 'King Kong' role
Meryl Streep was rejected for a role in 1976 movie 'King Kong' by filmmaker Dino de Laurentis, who told her she was too ugly.
The Oscar winner landed an audition with the veteran Italian producer, but he was unimpressed with her physical attributes, and dismissed her crudely, in Italian - not releasing Streep spoke the language fluently.
