Reese Witherspoon would support her children if they ever wanted to pursue an acting career - because she found her parents' own blessing invaluable.

The blonde beauty always dreamed of becoming a star - and although her parents were baffled by her career choice, they offered their wholehearted support.

In an interview with Hello! magazine, Witherspoon admits if her two children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe wanted to go into acting she'd embrace the idea, insisting: "I'd be supportive."

She added: "I wanted to be an actor when I was seven years old. And my parents were both physicians, so they thought it was a very strange choice for a little girl in Tennessee, but they were always really cool about it.

"I always appreciated that because you don't want to feel restricted or like your dreams are stupid."
