Jolie-Pitt family love New Orleans

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt want to settle down in New Orleans, Louisiana - because the city's racial diversity echoes their own family's mixed heritages.

The Hollywood couple have six children: adopted Maddox, seven, from Cambodia, Pax, four, from Vietnam, and Zahara, three, from Ethiopia. They're also parents to biological offspring Shiloh, two, and baby twins Knox and Vivienne.

And while the children love the southern US city for its culinary delights, Jolie insists they're actually learning about various cultures by living in New Orleans.

She said: "Our kids love it here. They love the school and their friends here. Most of all they love Verti Marte (a diner in the French Quarter). Their favourite thing to do is go down there. But for all of us, we just come here and we feel at home.

"This is the place we feel combines all the culture we love. It's a melding of my French heritage with Brad's Americana. The kids just love the food at the moment but they're absorbing years of tradition through that."

Fight Club star Pitt has been working with his charity Make It Right to rebuild the city after 2005's Hurricane Katrina left thousands of people homeless when flood water washed away massive swathes of residential areas.
