Alexandra wins 'X Factor'

Alexandra Burke was tonight voted 'X Factor' winner, landing a £1m record contract and a shot at this year's Christmas number 1.

Alexandra Burke wept tears of joy tonight as she was voted X Factor winner, beating JLS in the final.

The win means the 20-year-old has landed a £1m record contract and a shot at this year’s Christmas number 1.

Clutching a copy of her new single Hallelujah, she said: “This is for everyone who voted for me. This is for you. I love you.”

Burke, from north London, was firm 8/13 favourite with the bookies to win the ITV1 show.

She beat boyband JLS in the final two, after Irish teenager Eoghan Quigg was knocked out earlier in third place.
