Streep admits feeling insecure about new roles
Meryl Streep may be an Oscar-winning actress, but she still gets insecure about new roles.
“Of course. Fear is a good thing,” she tells Parade.com.
“Fear is your friend. Everything that destabilises you can help you. They taught us that in drama school. If you’re comfortable, you’re not doing your job. Most actors are constitutionally insecure. It’s sort of necessary.”
Meryl plays nun Sister Aloysius Beauvier in new movie 'Doubt', out in the UK next year, which saw her wearing a nun’s habit for the duration of the film.
“It’s burdensome to get it on and to move around,” she says about her costume in the movie which also stars Amy Adams and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
