Pitt defends Jolie against 'manipulative' article

Brad Pitt has come to the defence of partner Angelina Jolie following a candid article about the actress which labelled her "manipulative".

The New York Times published a one-page report on the mysterious star last month, detailing how she's mastered control of the press without the help of a publicist - cultivating relationships with reporters and even setting up her own photo shoots for the paparazzi.

But Pitt has vehemently denied the claims.

He tells Rolling Stone: "It sounded to me like the story made Angie out to be manipulative in some way. She is savvy.

"I get defensive. (They're) talking about not only the woman I love, but one of the people on this planet who I have the greatest respect for. I think she's as honourable as anyone I've ever met."
