Lewis named America's top new artist
Leona Lewis has been named America's Top New Artist of 2008.
The star, who won British TV talent show 'The X Factor' in 2006, has enjoyed a meteoric rise to success on the back of hit single Bleeding Love.
And now she has been honoured by Billboard magazine for her achievements, scooping the Top New Artist of 2008 award.
She tells the title: “I’m just going day by day and just enjoying everything. I got a fantastic opportunity to come here and do this and so far it’s been going really well.”
Fellow reality show winner, 'American Idol' star Jordin Sparks, took the second spot on the list, followed by hip-hop’s Flo Rida, singer Katy Perry and rockers OneRepublic.
