New York City officials have ordered the owners of Bob Dylan's former home at the famed Chelsea Hotel to stop their renovations following a flurry of complaints by fans insisting they were destroying the property.

The legend's devotees bombarded the city's Building's Department with complaints last week , claiming the hotel's new owners were ripping apart room 211 - where Dylan once resided - despite only having official permission to renovate its kitchen and bathroom.
