'Coronation Street' actress Kym Marsh is expecting a baby with her 'Hollyoaks' partner Jamie Lomas, the couple announced today.

They said they were thrilled that they are going to have a brother or sister for Marsh’s children, David and Emily, and Lomas’s son, Billy.

The baby is due early next summer.

A statement from the couple said: “We are delighted to be able to announce that we are having a baby.

“All our family and friends are very excited at the prospect of a new arrival next summer.”

Marsh will continue to play barmaid Michelle Connor in 'Coronation Street' throughout her pregnancy and will take maternity leave in early summer.

She is the eighth cast member from the popular soap to make a baby announcement in the past year.

Julia Haworth (Claire Peacock), Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) and Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland) have all become parents in the last six months.

Alison King (Carla Connor), Wanda Opalinska (Vicky Dankowski), Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby) and Jack Shepherd (David Platt) are all expecting new arrivals early next year.

Marsh and Lomas met when they sat next to each other on a train to the TV Quick awards last October and bumped into each other again at the Soap Awards in May.

In a recent interview with 'OK!' magazine, the Hollyoaks hunk, 33, said he would “definitely” like more children at some point.

Marsh, 32, added: “We’ve talked about things like that and our future.”

Asked if wedding bells were on the cards, Marsh told the magazine: “We’ve talked about it a few times.”

Marsh previously wed actor Jack Ryder but the couple announced they were separating in March this year.
