Doherty to join The Who
Babyshambles rocker Pete Doherty is reportedly set to replace Pete Townshend in The Who for a one-off charity gig.
The band's frontman, Roger Daltrey, is said to have asked Doherty to join him for a special concert in January to benefit the star's Teenage Cancer Trust foundation.
The legendary singer is reportedly impressed by Doherty's decision to sing at the funeral of young fan Daniel Squires, who died from cancer in July.
According to The Sun, the duo will team up to perform a selection of classic The Who songs at a venue in Bristol, England on January 12.
A source told the publication: "Roger was really impressed and touched when Pete performed for Daniel.
“He has told Pete to choose a list of Who songs and they will perform them together. They are both really excited.”
