Leona clocks fastest-selling download

Leona Lewis’s single 'Run' has become the fastest-selling digital release ever in Britain after two days on release, her spokeswoman said today.

Lewis first performed the cover of the Snow Patrol track late last year when she was invited to perform for Jo Whiley in Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

Run became available as a download only from midnight on Sunday and in its first two days of sales it sold 69,244 copies.

The record held for the biggest ever digital-only number one record was set by Estelle's 'American Boy' featuring Kanye West, which sold 51,857 units in a week, meaning Lewis now looks set to hit the top of the charts this Sunday.
