Killers frontman clean shaven for new pop sound

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has explained why he shaved off his famous moustache - it didn't complement the band's fresh new pop sound.

The singer decided to get rid of his beloved facial hair in time for the release of their latest album, 'Day & Age' - as he felt it didn't suit the mood of the Las Vegas group's new record.

He told the Daily Star: "I decided that the person who sang these songs didn't wear a moustache."

The band recorded their LP with the help of Madonna's music guru Stuart Price - and they are delighted with the input of the super producer.

Drummer Ronnie Vannucci says, "It was really, really fun for me on this record. I was able to do so much more than I was ever able to get away with before, with ideas."

Flowers adds, "There's something cosmic and galactic about what he does I think."
