Boy George trial begins

Singer Boy George is due to stand trial today accused of assaulting and falsely imprisoning a male escort.

The pop star and DJ is said to have chained Audun Carlsen to the wall of his home in Ravey Street, Shoreditch, east London.

London’s Snaresbrook Crown Court will hear the 46-year-old, who shot to fame in the 1980s with Culture Club, allegedly committed the offences on April 28 last year.

The case, listed under the entertainer’s real name of George O’Dowd, will be before Judge David Radford and is expected to last five days.
