Cyrus victim of internet death hoax
Teenage US actress and singer Miley Cyrus was the victim of internet death hoax, it was revealed today.
The 'Hannah Montana' star, who is alive and well, was the victim of the hoax over the weekend when someone hacked into her YouTube account and posted a video alleging she was killed by a drunk driver.
The video, which has been taken down, had a fake message from Cyrus’s friend Mandy Jiroux, who swiftly denied the rumour in a posting on her official MySpace page.
Ms Jiroux wrote: “MILEY IS OK!! Some1 hacked our youtube account.”
And further proof was provided when Cyrus, 15, was interviewed by reporters at a Los Angeles junket for the Disney animated film Bolt last night. She voices a 12-year-old TV actress in the movie.
The young star, who is the daughter of 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer Billy Ray Cyrus, is currently in the UK singles top 40 with '7 Things'.
