Angelina 'plans to quit acting'
Angelina Jolie has revealed plans to bow out of acting to concentrate on raising her family.
The 33-year-old star has a brood of six children with Brad Pitt, including four-month-old twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, a daughter named Shiloh and adopted siblings Maddox, Zahara and Pax.
She was interviewed by the BBC while promoting her new film, 'Changeling', directed by Clint Eastwood.
Asked in the interview whether she thought the possibility of her looks fading could affect a lengthy career, Jolie said: āI donāt think about it much because I donāt plan to keep acting very long.ā
Laughing, she continued: āIām ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day.
āSo Iām not so worried that I want to keep this pace up and try to be something and be a celebrity and be a successful actress forever.
āI think itās nice, Iāve had a time to tell stories and be able to be successful enough to tell the ones I want to tell, and (to) earn some money at the same time is great.
āBut everything comes in seasons and, you know, I hopefully wonāt be needing to do that later in my life in any way.ā
But Jolie would not rule out returning to work for interesting projects.
Asked if she had given herself a cut-off point when she no longer wanted to be an actress, Jolie said: āI donāt think Iāll ever say Iām never ever going to work because maybe thereās that interesting project where I feel creative ā but certainly I think now I havenāt worked for a year.
āIāll work for a few months in February. I wonāt work again probably for another year.
āSo maybe itāll be once a year and maybe itāll be once every three years and just naturally ā I like being home a lot these days.ā
The actress, who was divorced from actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, is known for her interest in humanitarian issues, working as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN.
She told the BBC: āFirst and foremost I have a lot of children and I have a big responsibility to make sure that theyāre growing right and that theyāve got us there for them.
āAnd just in showing them the world is when Iāll kind of become active. Not as a separate thing, just I want them to see all different countries.
āI want to learn with them about the world and certainly wherever I can Iāll shine a light on situations I think are important or express what Iāve come to find as something that needs attention.ā
Pittās ex-wife Jennifer Aniston recently broke her silence on what she thought of Jolieās behaviour, saying she was out of order when she revealed details about her early relationship with Pitt.
In an interview for the December issue of Vogue, Aniston discussed the magazineās profile of Jolie last year when she talked about getting closer to Pitt ā then married to Aniston ā while shooting action movie Mr & Mrs Smith in 2004.
Aniston said: āThat stuff about how she couldnāt wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.ā
But Aniston said she and Pitt, who divorced in October 2005, were on good terms.
āWell, it never was that bad... In the end, we really had an amicable split,ā she said.
