Ahern takes gong at US mag awards

Cecelia Ahern joined stars including Leona Lewis, Hayden Panettiere and Lily Allen in being honoured at the 2008 Women of the Year Awards held in New York by US magazine Glamour.

The event, held in Manhattan this week, saw Ahern take the Writer of the Year award. Lewis was crowned best UK Solo Artist, while 'Heroes' star Panettiere was hailed as Newcomer of the Year.

Other celebrities to receive a nod at the ceremony included actress Kate Beckinsale who was presented with the Best Film Actress award, supermodel Kate Moss, who was named Entrepreneur of the Year, and Mark Ronson, crowned Man of the Year.
