Baby joy for actress Monaghan

Actress Michelle Monaghan has given birth to a daughter.

The 32-year-old star of films such as 'Mission Impossible III' and 'The Heartbreak Kid' welcomed the first child, named Willow Katherine, with her husband Peter White on Wednesday.

“The proud parents are overcome with joy,” a spokesperson for the actress told 'Entertainment Tonight'.

Last month Monaghan confessed she was “nervous but excited” about the prospect of being a first time mum, and revealed she planned to take a break from acting to concentrate on the baby.

She said: “It’s my biggest project to date. This baby is going to be my next boss. It’ll dictate when I next pick up a script again and start reading.
