Nothing to hold interest in 'Incendiary'

A disappointing film all round, surprising from an otherwise talented director ('Bridget Jones’s Diary') and a top-line cast … the problem being that it is a poorly written effort that quickly sinks into melodrama.

Williams plays a young mother whose husband and child are killed in a bomb attack on a London football ground while she’s off conducting a seedy affair with McGregor and which leads her, uninterestingly, into a love triangle with McGregor and Macfayden.

There is nothing about the shallow characters to grab our interest while several sub-plots rise briefly to the surface and pop like bubbles to leave nothing memorable behind.

Ultimately this becomes a sort of non-film because there is nothing about it that sustains our concentration.
