Man held in connection with row with Mel B's family

A man was arrested at Heathrow airport following an altercation with singer Melanie Brown and her family, it was revealed today.

The unnamed 22-year-old was involved in a scuffle with a photographer before haranguing the former Spice Girl’s husband, Stephen Belafonte.

In a video of the incident, posted on celebrity website tmz.com, the man can be seen making gun gestures with his hands at Mr Belafonte, and shouting threats.

“I know you’re a stranger, but you don’t know what goes on in London streets,” he said.

“If you want to get killed ... you’re going to get it.”

Belafonte, 33, is later seen telling airport security staff: “The guy’s crazy - he just came at me like a madman.”

Mel B – also known as Scary Spice – shielded herself behind her luggage during the incident, holding her daughter Angel Iris in her arms.

The 33-year-old singer flew to the UK from her Los Angeles home to present the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) awards at Wembley Arena tomorrow night.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said officers were called to an incident outside the Terminal 3 arrivals hall at around 3.45 on Sunday afternoon.

“It is alleged that a man approached a man and a woman and was abusive,” she said.

“The man was arrested for threatening behaviour and taken to a west London police station.”

He was later bailed to return on a date in December.

Last month Mel B announced she was auctioning off the entire contents of her former UK home in an online sale to raise money for children’s cancer charity Clic Sargent.
