Pink set to win charts battle
Oasis are set to lose out to Pink in the battle for number one, it emerged today, as the band's album was premiered on MySpace.
The Gallagher brothers are expected to be scooped by the 29-year-old US singer in the UK singles chart on Sunday.
Pink’s single 'So What' is currently number one, while Oasis's 'The Shock of the Lightning' is at number two according to Music Week.
'The Shock of the Lightning', which was released on Monday, is the first single from Oasis's forthcoming new album 'Dig Out Your Soul'.
The band's seventh studio album, out on Monday, is being previewed on MySpace today. Fans gave a positive response to the album.
One wrote on HMV's website: "Not bad, not bad, listened to it all on the MySpace…it's a pretty cool album, not their best, but it is good."
Another wrote previously: "They are back...with more strength then ever. A classic album, psychedelic and groovy, with Liam in perfect form again."
Oasis's website said there had been a hitch which had delayed the playback on MySpace, although the album was available to listen to on the site this afternoon.
Based on digital sales alone, Pink's song debuted at Number 38 in the UK charts last Sunday, but the track has since benefited from physical sales.
