Scott Thomas brilliant in 'I’ve Loved You So Long'
Director: Phillipe Claudel
Cast: Kristin Scott Thomas, Frederic Pierrot, Claire Johnston, Elsa Zylberstein
Cert: 12
Scott Thomas has been bringing us so many great performances over the years that we tend to accept, without thinking about it, what an actress she is … and here, in this emotional drama, she is at her best, her very best.
She plays Juliette, released from 15 years in prison and living with her young sister Lea (Zylberstein) and her family while trying to get her life back on track.
What lifts the film into the realms of brilliance is the wonderful acting, the thoughtful and human directing and the fact that awkward themes are addressed without judgement.
There is something about this film that will have you rushing home to embrace your nearest and dearest.
