George Michael flies out of UK

Shamed pop star George Michael has flown out of the U.K. in a bid to avoid the media following his weekend drugs bust.

The 'Freedom' singer was arrested by police in the Hampstead Heath area of north London, close to his home in Highgate, on Friday.

He was found to be in possession of class A and class C drugs - cocaine and marijuana - and was released with a caution.

Michael apologised to his fans for his actions in a statement released on Sunday, and is now trying to stay out of the spotlight by flying out of the country yesterday.

The 45-year-old is reported to have boarded a jet operated by the exclusive London store Harrods at a private airfield with his partner Kenny Goss.

Their holiday destination has yet to be disclosed.
