Cyrus set for role in new movie

'Hannah Montana' star Miley Cyrus is reportedly set to star in an untitled film by 'The Notebook' author Nicholas Sparks.

Variety reports the role is being written especially for the 15-year-old.

Miley apparently signalled to Disney executives that she would like to star in a project like the author’s 2002 tearjerker 'A Walk To Remember'.

Nicholas agreed to write a novel and simultaneously work on a screenplay adaptation for the film. The novel is likely to be released next autumn.

“[The Cyrus family] are very familiar with the work I’ve done in the past,” Nicholas said. “That played a role in this project coming together.”
