A custody dispute between US rapper 50 Cent and the mother of their 11-year-old son is to go to trial, a judge ruled today.

Judge David Freundlich set an October 22 trial date to settle custody issues between 50 Cent and his ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins.
