Bon Jovi party raises $3m for Obama

Jon Bon Jovi hosted a fundraiser for US presidential candidate Barack Obama at his New Jersey home on Friday - and helped raise $3m (€2.1m) for the Democrat's campaign efforts.

Over 100 people attended the gathering, paying more than $30,000 (€21,129) each for the privilege of rubbing shoulders with Obama and his celebrity host.

Bon Jovi is a fervent Democrat who has been a major part of past election campaigns.
