Soul legend Stevie Wonder is to receive a prestigious honour from the US government for his lifetime of contributions to popular music.

The 25-time Grammy winner has been chosen as the second recipient of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song - following last year's honoree, singer/songwriter Paul Simon.
