Britney to open MTV Video Music Awards

Britney Spears will kick off Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, despite her disastrous performance at last year’s event, the network said today.

But the troubled pop princess will not be performing. Instead, MTV Networks Music Group president Van Toffler said it would be something “fun and unexpected”.
