Australia conducts character test on Snoop Dogg

Australia’s immigration department says it is conducting a full character assessment of rapper Snoop Dogg, including his criminal history, as it considers whether to grant him a visa for a planned concert tour later this year.

A department spokesman said today that reports the visa had already been granted were false.

The spokesman says the rapper, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Junior, applied for a visa in July and that the department carried out a preliminary assessment.

They decided to carry out a full assessment of his character and have notified Broadus of this.

The rapper is planning a concert tour in October with fellow hip-hop star Ice Cube.
