Rockers Metallica have announced plans to let their fans see them perform for just €10.

The band will play two gigs - one in Berlin, Germany on September 12 and another at London's O2 Arena on September 15 - and fans will be able to buy tickets at the special cut-price rate.

All the money from ticket sales will be donated to charity.

The move is in celebration of the band's forthcoming album 'Death Magnetic', which is released next month.

A statement from the group reads: "Because this is a celebration, tickets prices will be, shall we say, 'retro?' Only €10 for Berlin, five pounds in London! And the best part is that all the proceeds from the sale of tickets will be donated to local charities."

Only fans who are registered to Metallica's official fan sites will be eligible to buy tickets, and the orders will be limited to two per person.
