Lindsay Lohan has hit back a Los Angeles police chief who accused her of courting publicity from the paparazzi by behaving badly, branding his comments "inappropriate".

Los Angeles police chief William Bratton claimed photographers have calmed down since "Britney started wearing clothes (and) Lindsay Lohan has gone gay", referring to the actress' rumoured romance with DJ Samantha Ronson.
