'Man on Wire' always fascinating
Director: James Marsh
Cast: Phillipe Petit
Cert: 12
Even if we know from this remarkable film that Petit survived – so far – we still find our nails chewed to the bone watching him.
His death-defying stunts included stringing a wire between heart-stopping high places – cliffs, buildings, canyons, anything that gets his juices flowing – and strolling casually between them.
It takes some nerve, not to say a slight degree of reckless daftness, to do what he does, yet he comes across as – pardon the expression – down to earth. His contribution to the film is always fascinating.
But, kiddies, don’t try this at home.
