If your expectations are on the low side this forces-of-nature comedy – in which Fey shines – will come as a surprise: the sort of film that isn’t terrific, but isn’t bad either.

Fey plays successful businesswoman Kate who finds she can’t have a child and hires working class, disorganised Angie (Poehler) as a surrogate.

Angie moves in and it’s a case of two mismatched women trying to make things work out. Which they do in a manner that just about turns the film towards satisfactory.

But what are Weaver and Martin there for?
