Girls Aloud set for teen TV soap
Girls Aloud will star in a teenage soap set in the music business - with the main character based on American Idol judge Simon Cowell.
The drama series, entitled 'The Secret World Of Sam King', will be shown exclusively to users of teen social networking site Bebo and will be set inside their music label, Universal Records.
The main character is a young boy in the postroom who spots new music talent - just like Cowell's early days in the music business.
A friend of the pop band tells British newspaper the Daily Star: "They're all really excited - it promises to be a lot of fun.
"It's no secret that several of the girls harbour ambitions to get in to acting and this will prove a great showcase."
Other artists including Amy Winehouse, Welsh soul star Duffy, Razorlight and The Feeling will reportedly make guest appearances on the show.
An insider at Universal Records says: "Girls Aloud will be making a tongue-in-cheek debut in Sam King. The girls love stuff like Bebo and are really looking forward to filming."
