Madonna's brother 'blackmailed' into attending wedding
Madonna's brother has accused the superstar of "blackmailing" him into attending her 2000 wedding to director Guy Ritchie.
Christopher Ciccone, whose explosive new book about his sister hits the shelves later this week, insists he didn't approve when his sibling announced her intention to marry the Brit and did not want to attend their nuptials in Scotland.
Ciccone has accused Madonna of blackmailing him into going to the event - by withholding his fee from a previous interior design commission and paying him instead with a plane ticket to attend the wedding.
He writes in Life With My Sister Madonna, "I am not keen to attend the wedding because I really can't afford it. Moreover, I no longer have any affinity for Guy.
"But Madonna owes me the final payment for the interior design work I did on one of her houses and when I call to make my apologies, her assistant tells me the debt will be paid in the form of a ticket to Scotland, with the rest of the money sent separately.
"I spend a few days mulling over the situation. I feel I don't know this person who is attempting to blackmail me into attending her wedding. So I capitulate."
