Mel B to host Miss Universe pageant

Mel B will co-host this year’s Miss Universe pageant.

People.com reports that the former Spice Girl will join talk show star Jerry Springer to host the ceremony which will be taped in Vietnam and shown on US network NBC on July 13.

“I’m thrilled to be a co-host of the Miss Universe pageant,” Mel said in a statement.

“I believe the diversity and dedication that the pageant brings inspires and empowers young women across the globe.”

Her latest venture makes Mel – the new face of Ultimo lingerie – even busier. Along with working on a solo album which she is said to be hoping to release later this year, Scary Spice is also hosting new US game show The Singing Office, with Joey Fatone.
