Fourth Rambo film has few redeeming qualities

AGEING Sylvester Stallone returns as action hero John Rambo some 20 years after his last blood-splattered outing.

The fourth in the series — and hopefully the last — Rambo (SPHE, €24.99) finds him wreaking revenge on a faction of the Burmese military junta who kidnap a Christian aid group. A man of few words, Rambo is a killing machine without parallel, and it’s no surprise the body count soon exceeds the population of Burma. I exaggerate, but only a little.

While Stallone managed a fine finale with Rocky, this has few redeeming qualities. It’s time for Rambo to put his guns away and mind the garden.

An audio commentary by Stallone!, deleted scenes and over an hour of featurettes round out a poor title.
