Spector sued by trial hotel

A Los Angeles hotel is suing Phil Spector, his wife and agent for failing to pay more than $100,000 (€64,000) in accommodation for lawyers and expert witnesses in his murder trial.

In court papers filed today, the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites alleged the defendants agreed in a written contract to reserve rooms for the duration of the trial.

The lawsuit claims that by the time Spector’s first trial ended with a deadlocked jury in September, the defendants owed the hotel more than $104,000 (€67,000).

The producer, famed for his 'Wall of Sound' recordings, faces a second trial for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson at his home in 2003. He denies the murder charge.
