Gervais sings theme tune to new sitcom

British funnyman Ricky Gervais has put his vocal abilities to the test - by singing the theme song to new sitcom 'Toyboize'.

The 46-year-old has loaned his vocal talents to the online comedy show, about a washed-up band desperate to make a comeback, written by and starring Gervais' former 'The Office' co-stars Jamie Deeks and Ewen Mcintosh.

Gervais - who does not appear in the show - insists his short stint in 1980s pop group Seona Dancing makes him the perfect candidate to record the track.

"I thought the idea of the show was really funny and as a failed popstar myself," he said. "I jumped at the chance of writing a bad song."
