Jay-Z is facing an $88m (€57m) lawsuit from a wannabe rapper who claims the star stole his songs.

Mitchell Rose filed suit in New York last month alleging he met the star - real name Shawn Carter - at a boxing match in 2001, and handed over a CD of his songs.

He claims Jay-Z later used the music without crediting or compensating Rose. Rose, is seeking $88m (€57m) in damages for "loss of opportunity and punitive damages for mental distress".
