British pop star Leona Lewis has impressed one US journalist with her manners when she sent him a bottle of his favourite wine after a sore throat prompted her to scrap their planned interview.

The 'Bleeding Love' sensation has since rescheduled her chat with respected columnist James Brady and he has taken a moment to honour the singer's class in a Parade magazine article.

Brady writes: "She was in New York recently but developed a sore throat, forcing her to change our breakfast plans and fly back to London.

"The next day, she sent me a bottle of wine with the sweetest note. Good penmanship on personalized stationery - the sort of gesture reporters rarely get.

"Obviously, she's a kid with manners as well as talent."
