The Abbey takes to the road

The country's National Theatre, The Abbey has announced it's taking it's latest production 'The Seafarer' to three locations around the country.

Conor McPherson's celebrated play will open at the Town Hall Theatre Galway, on Tuesday June 10 for 4 days before showing in Letterkenny and the Cork Operahouse

Arts Minister Martin Cullen joined members of the cast and crew at the Dublin theatre this evening to wave them off.

While on their travels they will showcase a play that explores the demons in the lives of broken men, set in a house in a Dublin suburb.

Award winning playwright Conor McPherson was the Abbey's 2005 Writer-in-Association and 'The Seafarer' is the first work of his to be produced by Ireland's national theatre.
