The Doors reunite for band documentary

The feuding members of The Doors are to reconvene for a new documentary about the rock legends.

Marking the 41st anniversary of the release of the band's classic self-titled album, the film will feature interviews with the three existing Doors, fans Henry Rollins and Perry Farrell, as well as rare footage.

Keyboard player Ray Manzarek hopes the film will be released by the end of the year and admits that, from what he has seen, the project will correct aspects that appeared in director Oliver Stone's 'The Doors' biopic.

"This is the anti-Oliver Stone (film)," he said. "This will be the true story of The Doors."

The former Doors bandmates fell out over Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger's band Doors of The 21st Century. Drummer John Densmore insisted the 'reunion' was disrespectful to late frontman Jim Morrison and took his ex-pals to court, forcing them to cease using The Doors' name.

The trio came together for a book signing event in Los Angeles last year but they refused to appear together, staging separate events in Sunset Strip bookstores and clubs in Los Angeles instead.
