Actress Cynthia Nixon credits her role in 'Sex and the City' with giving her the confidence to come out as a lesbian.

Nixon, 42, who plays workaholic, red-headed lawyer Miranda Hobbes on the hit series-turned-feature film, opened up about her relationship with longtime partner Christine Marioni in 2004, after the pair had been dating for over a year.
