Nothing worth watching in 'Smart People'

A cast such as this deserved a much stronger film, but has been left with poorly-drawn characters – even worse, characters we care little about – going in no particular direction.

Quaid plays a recently widowed professor whose new romance with Parker causes family problems.

And, er, basically that’s it … nothing appears to have been developed to bring us action, forward movement, pace or anything worth watching.
